  • Almost anyone can get a handyCASH loan. As long as you can show that you have regular money coming in and take home over $1,300 a month. You must be resident in New Zealand and have a bank account which accepts direct deposits - that way we can send your loan direct to your bank fast!

  • What documents do I need to apply?
  • You can apply online right now without sending any documents just yet. As part of our responsible approach to lending, we may require some ID to be emailed or faxed to us. Sending in your latest bank statement may also help speed up the process.

  • Can I apply if I wasn't born in New Zealand?
  • Yes, you can. As long as you are resident in New Zealand right now we will consider your application.

  • Do you lend to people with bad credit?
  • The simple answer is yes we do. However as part of our responsible approach to lending we need to make sure that you can afford to take out the loan and meet the repayments without causing you any further difficulty. We take a look at your current financial situation primarily. If you are currently struggling to meet your loan repayments and are considering taking out a loan with us because of this, then we strongly recommend you do not apply with handyCASH today.

  • How does approval work?
  • Once you've completed your application, our automated system will quickly check you meet our basic criteria. If you do, you'll be shown a contract which you can agree to online. This is our loan offer to you as long as we are able to confirm all your details.

    handyCASH takes a responsible attitude to our borrower's welfare and we will confirm the information you've provided to ensure that you can afford to repay your loan without struggling. We normally do this by confirming your income but in some circumstances we may require copies of your payslip or bank statements.

  • How much money do I need to earn to qualify?
  • It doesn't matter if you are paid weekly, fortnightly or monthly. As long as your income totals $1,300 or more, you can apply.

  • Can I apply without a job?
  • No, sorry! You must be employed for a loan with handyCASH.

  • I have been refused a loan by other lenders, will you do the same?
  • Not necessarily. We operate differently than other lenders as our customers simply need cash in a hurry. We make a few simple checks to make sure you can afford the loan based on you earning over $1,300 a month. We can confirm this with your employer or via bank statements which you may send to us via email or fax.

  • I don't have a bank account - can you pay me another way?
  • Sorry, you need to have a bank account so we can make the loan payment direct to your bank.

  • How do I apply for handyCASH loan?
  • Simply go to our Apply Now page and fill out our online application. This should take only minutes - depending on how fast you type. If all is good, we can provide you with a loan offer instantly!

  • What information do you need from me?
  • When you apply online, we need your name and address details as well as some details about your current income. We need this information to confirm your identity and also to make sure that you can afford to take out a loan with handyCASH.

  • What happens when I've completed the application form?
  • If you meet our basic criteria, you'll have the chance to review and agree to your loan offer contract online. Your payday loan application is then reviewed by our underwriting team who will confirm your details, especially your income.

    If the team needs anything else, they'll let you know by email or by phone.

  • How long does it take to complete the application process?
  • It only takes minutes to complete our online application. We may then provide you with a loan offer. It is important that you read through the terms of the offer and that you are comfortable and understand how much and when the money will need to be repaid. The whole process from applying to accepting the terms generally takes about 10 minutes for most people.

  • How will I know when I'm approved?
  • When our loan underwriters have confirmed all your details, they'll give you a call to let you know you've been approved. They'll also send you an email so don't worry if you might miss the call.

  • How much can I borrow?
  • How much you can borrow depends on the affordability of the loan and we will only offer you a loan that we feel you would be able to manage without causing further financial difficulty. After you have repaid your first loan with us, the maximum you could borrow may be higher if you need to reuse our service in the future.

  • How long does it take to receive my cash loan?
  • Most loans are paid out on the same day that the loan is approved, during office hours.

  • How does my loan get paid to me?
  • After you have applied and accepted our loan offer, we will need to make a few checks to confirm your income. This is generally done in less than an hour and most loans are processed and sent to our customers' banks on the same day that they apply.

  • Can I have more than one loan at a time?
  • Unfortunately not. handyCASH takes a responsible attitude to our borrowers welfare and we do not encourage habitual borrowing and limit the amount you borrow to a level we believe you can safely repay without causing you any further difficulty and without leading to a cycle of borrowing.   • I was approved for less than I requested. Why?
  • New customers may be offered loans lower than requested, while subsequent loans may be higher. As a responsible lender we want to make sure that the amount you borrow is manageable and can be repaid without causing any additional financial problems.

  • How do I repay my loan?
  • Repayment of your loan is very simple and is taken automatically from your account on the agreed dates. If you are paid monthly the loan will need to be repaid in full on your agreed date. If you are paid fortnightly, then it will need to be taken in 2 fortnightly payments. If you are paid weekly, then 4 weekly repayments will need to be made.

  • Will I have to repay my loan in a single payment?
  • If you are paid monthly the loan will need to be repaid in full on your agreed date. If you are paid fortnightly, then it will need to be taken in 2 fortnightly payments. If you are paid weekly, then 4 weekly repayments will need to be made.

  • How much will the repayments cost me?
  • The repayments will differ depending on how often you get paid and how long it is before you repay the loan in full. Use our loan calculator to check how much you may have to pay in total.

  • Can I defer a payment?
  • Yes, it is possible to defer repayment of your loan, but only once. Deferring your loan repayment may effect any future borrowing with handyCASH.

  • What happens if I miss a payment?
  • The answer to this question depends a little on you. At handyCash, we understand that sometimes there may be problems repaying your loan.   • We have a faster and shorter 'VIP' Returning Customer application process. After you have borrowed and repaid your loan on time with us, we should be able to deal with your loan request quicker. If your last loan with us was over 120 days ago, then we may require a copy of your latest bank statements to be emailed or faxed to us.

  • How do I apply for another loan?
  • As we already have your details, all you need to do is complete our short Returning Customer application for a faster VIP service.

  • Can I borrow more money this time round?
  • As you borrow and repay your loans on time, you will build up a trust rating with handyCASH. This could allow you to borrow a higher amount next time you need to take out a handyCASH loan.

  • Do you ever need further information from me?
  • If you need another loan from us and your previous loan was over 120 days ago, we may ask for a copy of recent bank statements just to confirm you are still getting paid regularly, before we can send your loan to your bank.
